Joint Industry Board
The purpose of grading is to ensure that PHMES operatives are suitably recognised for the trade skills and qualifications they possess. The responsibility for operative grading rests with the JIB-PMES CSCS Registration and Grading Scheme.Grading is an addition to JIB-PMES CSCS Registration. Whereas registration cards are based only on an operative’s qualifications, the awarding of JIB-PMES ‘Advanced’ and ‘Technician’ grades is on the basis of skills and experience as well as qualifications.
These grades are recognised and supported by JIB-PMES participant employers to determine rates of pay, allowances and benefits. In addition to issuing JIB-PMES CSCS registration cards, the JIB-PMES is also a well-established provider of welfare benefits and services to Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services companies and their operatives.
The JIB-PMES CSCS Registration scheme is the most widely used and recognised card scheme for Plumbers, Mechanical Engineering Services operatives and those working in PMES related occupations. With circa 60,000 live card holders, our cards are the benchmark for identifying qualified tradespersons in the PMES sector. The JIB-PMES CSCS registration card shows site managers, employers and other trades that you are qualified to undertake the work you are doing, and that you have demonstrated current Health, Safety and Environmental knowledge.
The JIB-PMES is a reputable, not for profit organisation, in existence since 1972 for the benefit of everyone in the Plumbing Industry. We seek to provide registration services quickly and inexpensively, and to resolve any problems in a fair and professional manner. When you contact the JIB-PMES, you will be talking to a professional person with real knowledge and experience of the industry and our services. We are not a call centre, we are not an agency: we are the heart of the industry.
