CITB HS&E Revision Courses

CITB HS&E Revision Description

The CSCS Green Card Course is intended for students who are employed in or seeking employment in the construction industry. It will equip students with the knowledge they need to perform their jobs safely. Successful students who pass both the CSCS Labourer Card Course and the CITB Operatives Health, Safety, and Environment test are eligible to apply for a CSCS Green Card. The card aids employees and companies in proving employee compliance with health and safety requirements by showing that the holder has completed the necessary training.

You need the CSCS Green Card if you want to work on a construction site as a labourer (bricklayer, carpenter, plumber, etc.). The CSCS Green Labourers card proves that the labourer who holds the card knows the health and safety risks and hazards at a construction site. Although having a valid CSCS card is not legally required, many employers on construction sites insist that their staff members and subcontractors do.

This construction certification addresses typical risks and hazards in the construction industry, safe manual handling techniques, working safely at heights, and working safely with machinery and plants. It also discusses how crucial good collaboration and communication are to ensuring safe working procedures are followed in the construction sector.

The CPCS scheme is widely recognised in the construction industry, and certification is often a requirement for employment in many construction-related roles. The scheme is overseen by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), which is responsible for setting the standards for training and assessment under the scheme.

The CPCS is a nationally recognized certification scheme for plant operators and related occupations in the construction industry. The scheme ensures that plant operators are competent and safe in their work, and provides proof of their training and qualifications through the issuance of a skills card. The CPCS Management Committee regularly updates and reviews the scheme to ensure it remains up-to-date with industry standards and technological advances. With over 60 categories of plant and related occupations covered, the scheme provides a comprehensive and widely recognized qualification for those working in the plant sector of the construction and allied industries.
